First off lots of people think it is the best mod, because it is.

and your Wrong, its never under 50% for more than a few seconds at most, if you have a good monk that will be true for all whammos (and i can say that as i have a monk), in fact health should be above 50% for at least 80% of the time.

You fail to see the point, i dont always use stance. Doylak and watch yourself are skills i use alot, they are not stances, also stances are not very usefull for some PVP builds.

I fail to see why i should make my build around my weopon. for example having to use enchantments or stances to activate the 15%, when it may not suit my current build.

15^50 works with all my builds, its automatic. Again i want 15^50 as i dont want to build around my weopons, my weopons should work for me.

I dont mind to much, collector weopons are good still and i do use the 15% enchanted for some builds but my point is still valid. You say you can get the best weopons from collectors, that is clearly untrue.

drops in Tombs UW are horrible. I have more wood than you could shake a stick at. I now have a total of 4 kole's gauntlets and 3 illyana staves. I have done this run many more times 8.
Some of you are complaining about the countdown when Charlie Murphy shows up (The Darkness). I recommend leaving either the mob on the left, or on the right, alive and killing the bosses from the stairs on the opposite side. That gives you ample time to complain about who got what and pick up your scroll of rampagers insight (I had that drop, and I was so happy...). I am someone who you might hate to have in your party most probably. When 2hrs and 30minutes hits, I will most probably leave, unless I am having a lot of fun. It should not take that long. Only thing I want from tombs is the shield. The offhands are pretty pathetic and the sundering mod on the sickle... it is insulting. Why make an item that is in such high demand... but make it crappy. When I complete runs I usually give my green, if i get one, to someone who got nothing. I'm 1/5 of my last runs. I dont need any of those offhands. Sidenote : Being a keg/gear tank in sorrows is incredibly boring. I got what I wanted from there and will never go back. Only build I find fun in Tombs as a monk is Boon, especially when people dont know to get out of meteors and just sit there. my 2 cents.

I've successfully completed four runs now. First time I got a Kole's Torment, got a second one the next, a Wenslauss' Faith my third, and one ecto but no green on my fourth. All in all, I figure that's not bad so far.

But what annoys me more than any lack of green/gold drops ever could is the fact that, before managing to complete that fourth run, incompetents and droppers wasted two hours of my time. Two hours, all spent in town or the first level, just in order to find a group that wasn't filled with impatient idiots. At least when I go on a run and don't get any greens, I still get 2k-3k in gold plus the fun of just doing it; I get nothing from having horrible PUGs waste my time.

Keep the drop rate as it is, nerf the idiots, I say.

Yeah, if you can't get a good green or an excellent gold off a chest, at least you can pick up the junk and get 2-3k for your efforts in pulling off a full run, Oro SF, FA SF, Tombs UW, FoW Forgemaster, whatever. I don't complain when I see someone get Brohn's Holy Rod, or Drago's Sundering Flatbow (which my ranger has through my MM), or Razorstone, whatever...I take the junk I got, sell them for a total of 2-3k, stash the materials i've salvaged into the storage, rest, and move on, knowing I had 1-2 hours of fun. End of story.

I play the new UW with either a group of friends (or friends/henchy mix) or with henchies only. Although I have 5 characters (all except warrior) I only go into the new UW with my Mesmer, for which I have a build that really seems to work well for this area. What I will NOT attempt to do is join a party of unknown human players. Just standing around one of the Tombs districts and listening to how people are advertising for groups makes me shudder. Firstly, no one seems to want a Mesmer even though my Mesmer plays the UW better than any of my other characters. And, as others have posted, I just don't want to waste my time with people who do not play well as a team or do not play well tactically - these groups are highly likely to fail, and doing the UW takes just too long for me to want to play with a group that fails in the second or third levels.

Anyway, I have successfully completed the new UW with my Mesmer and henchies 3 times (out of 4 total attempts). I was disappointed during my first two runs by not getting any green drops, but with 7 henchies in the group, that is just to be expected. Happilly, however, I got Illyana's mesmer staff on my third run. So it is possible to get greens with just henchies, although you have to expect that the luck of the draw might give you nothing on many runs. But this is no different than going out with a human party and watching everyone else get the green drops while you get nothing.

The more the place is farmed, the lower the value of the things. (Anyone wanna buy an IDS for 75k ? ) But there's more to the Tombs area than "gettin' that green!" It's a good place for PvE players to learn a bit about working as a team and learning new builds for their character & groups.

One of the best things about doing tombs is the feeling of accomplishment when you get through it. That's no small feat, and there's alot of loot to get along the way. Plus, you don't have to pay to get in like in ToA.

I've been lucky so far - 2 runs, 2 greens, and I do feel kinda bad for the ones that get nothing, but there is something worse than that. The other night, we had just gotten the mob to the right of the bosses killed off, ready to take out the bosses, and one of our Ele's lost his connection!!!

I think that the number of PUGs that suck will eventually fade away a bit as people learn to play the area and those who don't learn will get frustrated and stop going there.

If they ever gained fame for a PvE type a thing as had been suggested and normally Flamed over... It would be for clearing the underworld, or fissure of woe ,or the tombs underworld challenge. say 5 fame each time. something like that... In any case.. I love these challenge areas... I'm not sure what the final boss ratio is but it does seem weird sometimes. like many have said they often drop 2 or 3 all to one and none or 1 for others.

don't know. But I still like the area personally. glad it was not a one time only thing... and ms grey mentioned it was here to stay... YEA!!!

Absolutely agree. We had just gotten to the courtyard last night and after everyone came back from various bathroom breaks, we started to attack the first group and wham! I lost connection. Was very frustrating. But the group finished up just fine.

I remember the first time going in to Sorrow's Furnace and thinking that it had a pretty high level of difficulty. Now having done tombs a number of times, I told my friend the other day that SF seemed like a walk in the park in comparison.

I have been very very lucky in my drops in tombs.

Of the 5 times our group has beaten it I have gottenthe green: 2 drops, 2 drops, no drops, 2 drops, and 3 drops.

It does suck for those who don't get any. I will usually give away something that I haven't gotten yet (or the very high priced items) to someone who didn't get one or a guildie.

But now that I have gotten the chief pieces I want from down there, it has become more about the challenge and "perfecting" the build and group.

Have met a lot of new friends going down there a lot though.

yea a good group normall divys up the booty among the party... Helps to go with friends from a guild and not a pug... anyways. thats some serious good luck on those drops...

It is luck, I've gone 5 runs without any to get 3 items on the next, I think I average about 1 per run but I dont keep an exact count.

We always share them amongst each other if someone is interested in an item, I got the blade the other day and traded it for the longbow, another time I've given Milius Pillar away to someone who wanted it for his ele. Been given the axe as well.

Works out nicely for everyone that way.

i demand all SF and GF bosses drop greens for everyone too. after all, we all do it just for the greens! we damn well deserve a reward for a job well done

if you want guaranteed drops, do 4 man parties. it doesn't take as long as you might imagine it to be and the time you save from dry runs even out
you'll also find that aggro control is easier, since there isn't a bunch of oblivious people who wander into enemy aggro in regular 8 man PUGs

No I have done too.

Im not going to be ridiculous about it - the ONE Victos axe I got stayed mine.
But I gave away 2 of the lesser drops I got (I think I've had 4 - still got the mirror ick)
and offered the Victos on a first refusal basis to the tank on the team in return for the Monk staff (plus money - but I was still selling it for around half it's notional value)

Have also shared keys around us, and candy canes if necessary

My successful runs have been with guild members so it's easy to share with them - having said that, it was the non-guild members I gave stuff to - (ie there would be 4/5 guild members and the rest were pick ups) partly to encourage group bonding, partly because I enjoy a sharing co-operative game experience over a bitching one any day.

That happened last night! I went on my 4th attempt last night (finished once before- no drop) with a guildie and another friend and we had a good group except for the other warrior(I am one) who didn't seem to grasp the "pull into traps and don't aggro the whole mob" concept. We politely asked him to stop, and explained what we wanted, although he said he had beaten it 5 times already. Everyone stayed polite and we worked our way through.

As several of us lay dead, a Phantom Key dropped for me. My guildie pointed it out in team chat and after we rezzed and finished the battle, I went looking for it. I asked where it was, since I couldn't see it- no replies until my guildmate said "warrior's name" that key was Sophie's. He said it didn't have a name on it, and I pointed out that it did when it dropped, but we let it go. Warrior then pm's me, showing a blue raven staff that he told me was what he got from the chest, that everyone had just said was giving purple items!

We go on, one person disconnects and we kill the darkness. Much to my glee, everyone got a green but our friend the warrior! This morning I am feeling a little bad about (silently) enjoying the moment so much, but last night it sure felt good!

During the start of the new tombs area I would only be able to get to the second to the last level every time on the same level the same spot anet would error out, so I missed out on all those green drops while they where dropping good. I tried over the weekend getting the same results (yes it was anet side). After the 23rd’s update I was able to get to the last level had a green offhand necro item drop but some where I failed to see it time ran out, no big deal I was just happy to know I can finely get to the end. Since then I’ve made six successful runs and only got a total of two green items, the one I missed to pick up and a monk staff.

I used to buy keys for the chests in there, I soon stopped that due the worthless drops I’ve gotten from them the gold eternal shield blood magic +1 10% chance and other “they would be good if they didn’t suck items”. After seeing what other people got from a chest drop.

Yeah I think I reserve the right to be upset when I get shafted of drops. When people who spend 90% eating dirt most the game get two greens, there are enough green drops for everyone to have one and two people always get shafted, where is the rewards for those people.

After several failed attempts at the new tombs area with my Mesmer plus 7 henchies, I switched over to my Ranger. I did it with my Mesmer 3 times successfully, but I guess I was just being too careless last night. Well, it was a lot easier tour as Ranger + 7 henchies! Equipped: oath shot, throw dirt, flame trap, dust trap, savage shot, disrupting shot, rebirth and troll unguent. (I think next time I will switch the oath shot for poison arrow).

After several rounds of henchy suicide I got to the end, and got two bosses killed, and no green drops! Left the last boss standing for a moment while we backed off and caught our breath. Then in for the final kill and yay! a green drop for me! My score so far with henchies only: 4 completed runs, 2 with no green drops, 2 with 1 green drop each. Seems ok to me.

BTW: does any PUG group ever advertise or willingly take Mesmers in their group for the new tombs? Doesn't seem like it to me.

Remind me again how this is fun? It seems totally pointless to me. I'd like some of what GG is smoking.

True the repetitiveness can get to you after awhile, but take a break do something else and come back to it, I go there now just to help other guild members get an item they want.

What item you want anyway? Most of it is mostly worthless. Heck, if you are keen I can even give you a Kole's Gauntlet.

I dont know if any of you caught the post at GWO I started on this subject, but it went on for some 300 odd posts before it was finally closed, included a post from Gaile on the subject of fairness and/or the drop system being 'broke'.
Yea it sucks to go down there carry some sorry players ass through the 4 levels and have them get Victos Axe, and Blade and map out before they even help you finish the last mob, no thanks no nothing. It is mind numbingly boring with a crappy team, any team that takes longer than 1:45 mins I dont want to be on it. Sorry not worth the mental anguish. Go here nuke,nuke,nuke, go over there nuke, nuke, nuke. Its not really even a challenge worthy of a decent team. Much rather spend my time in the FoW, or the real UW, where at least there is a challenge and you can do it in a different way if you like. If I can get in a fast group Ill do it for the possible reward, but I know that it is only possible, so I dont even get my hopes up, till the 3 Darknesses are dropped.(Im attacking the Darkness :O,Ogre Slaying knife +9!!!!). Just my 2 cents, but if you wanna read about 300 other odd people who agreee and disagreee with the drops system fairness, I wont link(I hope nobody minds me mentioning it), you all know how to find it....
